Tracing the Evolution of Chess in Punjab
The Chess Association of Punjab was established in 1958 to unify and streamline the efforts of various chess enthusiasts and organizations within the state. Its formation marked the beginning of a structured approach to developing chess talent and promoting the game across Punjab. Over the years, the association has played a pivotal role in organizing numerous state and national-level tournaments, training camps, and workshops.
It has also been instrumental in identifying and nurturing young chess talent, some of whom have gone on to achieve national and international recognition. The association continues to work towards its vision of making Punjab a significant hub for chess in Pakistan.
